The Copley Ridge Mountain Bike Race is CANCELLED for 2017, we will be back next year.
Sunday, 12 February, 2017 — 10:00am
The first VI Endurance cross country mountain bike race of the season is here. The Copley Ridge Mountain Bike Race is in the Lantzville Woodlot.
Race Format and Start Times
This loop course is 6.5km, with over 300m of elevation gain. There are categories for beginner, intermediate, and advanced (1, 2 or 3 laps respectively). The advance race starts at 10:00, intermediate at 10:10 and beginner at 10:20.
There will be a short pre-race briefing 5 minutes before the advanced start time. This is to give you an update on course conditions, and a quick rundown of the race rules.
This race will take place in the Lantzville woodlot. The start/finish will be just off the corner of Sywash Ridge Rd and Normarel Dr.
- 0.0km – 1.5km
The first kilometre is on some well used single track and then quad trail. At the 1.5 km mark we hit the logging road and go up.
- 1.5km – 2.5km
Oh ya it’s all up!
- 2.5km – 5.0km
Hit the single track and half —yes it’s a bit wider than a true single track— the down run is nice and flowy, nothing too technical. Definitely worth the pain of going up.
- 5.0km – end
You get about 300m under the power lines then it’s all single track to the finish.
Registration is limited to 40 bikers so be sure to secure your place.
Registration is $20.00 making this one of the best race deals in town.
We encourage you to register online but there will be in-person registration available on race day. Race registration will close 10 minutes prior to the race briefing. There’s usually a few stragglers that miss out, so make sure you’re there on time to register.
Plate Pick Up
Race plate pick up will start 45 minutes before race start.
We are planning for one aid station at the Start/Finish. We will have all the usual race food at the aid station.
