Good Day Racers

Here’s to the winter giving you lots of time for trail running and lots of time to be healthy!!!

I’ve had a lot of time for reflexion over the last few months, as I’m sure we all have. One of the things I’ve been thinking about is the 2021 Cedar Ultra and Anytime 10km Races.

I think the theme for this year’s race is “Flexibility”. We used to say in the Air Force “Flexibility is the key to air power” and I’m going to steal that and say “Flexibility is the key to ultra power”

Yeah…not as flow-y…but you get the idea.

So what do we need to be flexible about? Well… How we can make this race happen.

If nothing changes over the next few month…the restrictions stay the same… the bad news is that another race season will be out the window. So if no social gatherings are permitted…still.. we will be giving everyone the option for a full deferral to 2022 or a partial refund.

We aren’t going to make this decision until sometime in April…and even then…who knows (remember flexibility!)

If things go back to “normal” and Dr. Bonnie Henry says we can have groups of 50 again (oh…. I remember those days…sigh!) we will have 48 participants, 1 race director, and 1 completely awesome totally rad volunteer! That will mean no race crews or pacers, sorry.

But for those who know us and have raced with us before, you know we got you covered!

We will modify the start times, start/finish area, and aid station to keep you safe and legal. Don’t worry…remember flexibility!

Finally. Even if we CAN do this race together but YOU aren’t comfortable for ANY reason… We’re flexible. Defer to 2022 or get a partial refund, no questions asked.

Flexibility is the key. We miss you all, we want to see you all and catch up on what you have been up to these last couple of years. We will do whatever we can to make this race happen safely and legally.

As always if you have any questions please drop me a line.

Thanks and I hope to see you all in June.
